Please keep in mind that you may have to tweak this a bit, as the salt stone is no longer available. Some other things have also been changed. If you cannot figure out how to tweak this or do not feel comfortable doing so, please check out a fiew of our other training guides.
Blupping/bolding/skilling method.
A few helping hand bits of info:
• A horse is only as good as it can be. No amount of technique will make a foundation into a 1000 skilled horse.
• A horse stops gaining skills/blup aged 25 years 1 month old.
• WOY always makes everything easier!
• Pieces Of Cloud increase your horse’s skills by allowing you to do extra lessons.
• How to calculate a horse’s skills:
Without doing any lessons your horse’s skill will be:
It’s total GP (after games) + it’s total inborn skills.
So take a horse with 350 GP and 50 inborn skills, 350+ 50 = 400. So it will have 400 skills.
• All about lesson gains:
24e = 0.1 gain
23e = 0.099 gain
22e = 0.098 gain
21e = 0.097 gain
20e = 0.096 gain
19e = 0.095 gain
For the best skill gain your horse should be boarded in a 24e EC.
For this to be accurate your horse needs to do every lesson from 2 years to 25 years 1 month old.
If you use 20 POCs (pieces of cloud) on your horse then your horse can do more lessons during it’s life, therefore enabling it to gain more skills.
So, here is the amount of skills a horse can gain from lessons during it’s life (depending on whether you use 20 POCs and depending on what price lessons you use).

TRAINING (this is for skilling to big skills, if you just want to blup replace the lessons with training, rides or competitions – this will mean your horse has less overall skills though):
*Each month of the horse’s life needs to be trained in this style.
*If at the end of the horse’s day you have energy left train something else to use up the energy – remember to do it in order (the order can be found at the bottom of this section)
How to do training:
Salt stone, grooming, lesson, feed 12 pounds + 123 ounces (ponies need 10 pounds), training + lesson (as much as the horse can do with it’s energy), stroke, water, carrot, turnip.
How to do short rides:
Salt stone, grooming, lesson, feed (as above), short rides + lesson (as many as can do with energy), stroke, water carrot, turnip.
How to do long rides:
Salt stone, grooming, lesson, feed (as above), long ride + lesson (as much as can do with energy), stroke, water carrot, turnip.
How to do competitions:
Salt stone, grooming, lesson, feed (as above), comps + lesson (as much as can do with energy), stroke, water carrot, turnip.
With that in mind, train in this order:
Short trot rides, speed training, dressage training, gallop races until your horse gets no more skill gain, trotting races (until no more gain), show jumping comps (until no more gain). Wait for the races to run, if you have less than 15 wins go back and do more races. Trotting training, gallop training, short gallop rides, cross country comps (until no more gain). If your horse still doesn’t have 20 wins, go back and do comps until it does. Train jumping & stamina. Do long sloping rides until no more gain. Tada – 100 blup, all skills bolded!
If you are skilling your horse age until 25 years 1 month old making SURE you do EVERY lesson for maximum skill gain.
Additional info:
Clouding: I tend to do this quite young, around 8 years old as it increases your competition wins. However, as long as you use all 20 pieces of cloud before your horse is 25 years old it doesn’t matter when you use them.
