"It was requested I produced a list of tips as to how I got so rich.
I have bought passes during my game but only 22 in total.
I have:
*Got into the top 800 ranking
*Had numerous horses in the top 10 overall Elite
*Had 300 passes on my account at one time
*Saved up to 4.5 million to buy my first Sleipnir
*Owned 5 Xanthos and 3 Sleipnirs during my game
*Owned 2 Xanthos & 1 Sleipnir all at the same time
So! Here are my get rich tips (you CAN be rich without buying passes).
- Always look out for bargains, know your market. There is a technique called 'cornering the market', this means that you buy everything under a certain price in order to resell for more. Say there are only 7 unicorns in the Private Sales for under 18,000e (ie. 4 priced 15,000e, 1 priced 18,000e and 2 priced 16,000e), you buy them all and resell them for 18,000e each. This way you are selling the cheapest unicorns in the sales - what choice do people have but to buy them?
- Learn to blup and skill. Buy a *good* foal and train it up to be the best of the bunch! Then you can sell it for some big cash - Irish Hunters are the best breed for this as people pay BIG money for them due to their high dressage
- Advertise, advertise, advertise. It is very important to be well known in this game, if you are well known and prove you have extensive knowledge then less people question your asking prices.....and....more people will actually buy your horses
- Buy and sell. Same theory as the 'corner the market' but not quite, I don't expect you to go and buy all the Golden Apples people are selling for under 4500e. So, how this works is: Check out what's cheap and what's not, view people's pages to get the hang of it. If someone has posted on their page 'Passes wanted, will pay 18,000e' and you see someone selling a pass for 15,000e.....BUY it and sell it on to someone who'll pay well for it. The same goes for Black Market items, horses, anything you can find.
- Watch the auctions. Fantastic place to get a bargain.
- Constantly check out the sales forum, see what people are selling and for what price to make sure you ALWAYS know what the going rate is.
- When training/blupping/skilling a horse do as MANY competitions as you can, if it's a stallion offer loads of cheap coverings out. Why? Well, put it this way, I have made over 180,000e from skilling a stallion before --> purely from competition winnings and covering fees.
- Hover over the Private Sales. Every now and again you might 'catch' something. Some people don't know what things are worth - I've 'caught' a horse with MA and no stone for 3000e before a 8000e unicorn and so on. "
